Academic Project

Project Duration :

1 Month

Amul, founded in 1946 in Anand, Gujarat, is managed by the Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd. (GCMMF), jointly owned by 3.6 million milk producers.

Known for its quality dairy products, Amul offers ice creams, sundaes, and shakes, with parlours across major Indian cities like Mumbai, Chennai, Delhi, and Bengaluru.

About the brand

problem

The project aims to redesign Amul’s tetra pack to prevent straw loss by securely integrating it into the packaging with a peelable cover for easy access.

Process

I explored multiple design ideas to solve straw misplacement, finalized a feasible concept, and developed mockups and prototypes. I also enhanced the pack’s graphics to improve its visual appeal and branding.

This keyline drawing shows the structural layout of the redesigned Amul tetra pack, including all fold lines, cut lines, and panels required for production. The red dotted lines indicate the folds and creases, while the solid outlines represent the cut boundaries of the carton.
A dedicated extension on the right side highlights the integrated straw compartment, showing where the straw will be securely stored within the packaging. This structure ensures the straw stays attached and protected, preventing it from getting lost.
